  • That’s a good deal. Almost good enough to make me wonder what the catch is.

  • Just throwing this out there, should a landlord want to rent to a fellow Popviller, but gainfully employed and responsible citizens here looking for a studio in Columbia Heights/U Street/Shaw for under $1,300! Sept 15 or Oct 1 move in.
    Anyone?! 🙂

    • I think you might have a hard time finding a studio in those areas for $1300. I rented out my basement near the Georgia Ave.-Petworth Metro for $1250.

    • My building has an opening: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/apa/4628087501.html

FYI, it has income restrictions, but it’s such a good deal if you meet the restrictions. Give them a call. They have another building a block away too with the same price.

    • Aw man, my comment was removed. Must be the craigslist ad I suggested. Anyway, I recommend looking into The Olympia, Totten Tower, and The Walbraff in Columbia Heights. Income restricted but great deal for 1 bedrooms and studios all under $1300.

      • Interesting! Any idea what the income restrictions are? I don’t see anything on the website.

        • I believe it’s roughly $45k a year for one person, but it may have increased. You should call the buildings to get the actual requirements. I live in one of the buildings, and it has a mix of families and young single people like me clearly working in nonprofits or entry level professions.

      • If you included a link, it’s probably just awaiting approval.

  • Is that really considered Penn Quarter?

  • Kind of strange there is no lid/seat on the toilet, but not a bad price.

  • “Turnkey”? For pete’s sake, the toilet is completely missing a seat!!

  • I just realized that Colombia Heights is the new Chinatown with all the kids hanging out and general nuisance. Now get off my lawn!

  • Why is everyone fixating on a missing cheap toilet seat? Probably took the pics in between swapping them. Or not, who cares…

    • People care because it’s sloppy presentation on the part of the real estate agent and/or owner, and is something that’s easily fixable. It’s like having a glaring typo on your resume.

    • My thoughts exactly. When I listed my basement for rent the appliances hadn’t been delivered/installed yet and that didn’t stop someone from signing a lease. The people on here I swear.

  • This is standard pricing for a 2 bedroom in Chinatown. However who would want to be in a low level apt with windows facing an alley and trash cans? I’m surprised this new building used cheap/old looking materials for the bathroom.
