  • oh man, good buy

  • What’s going on with the floors? Did they PAINT them??

  • That is a good deal but a flipper will get to it first. This has almost no chance of being bought by someone who plans on living in it.

That’s what I was going to say. We were just talking about how hard it is to find an unrenovated house. Here it is. Hopefully the seller will overlook a cash offer from a flipper and sell it to a real homeowner that will restore and fix up what’s there.

      • It seems to me that if they wanted a real homeowner, they would price it a bit higher to decrease the margins for a flipper. This house is a gut check for me–we just bought very close to here (in Bloomingdale, I know, it’s technically different) and our house is a little bit more updated, but overall on par, and this house is a much nicer price.

  • Hope a private homeowner, young couple or something buys this up. One of the few affordable options for a properly sized row house. Snatch it up and get to work on updating! Good buy as long as there isn’t a bidding war.

    • Ugh, looking at this I wish we could buy (couple in our late 20s). But, alas, it looks like prime pickings for an all-cash buyer.

  • Great deal. this is exactly the kind of place I was looking for when I was house hunting (and the kind of place I was lucky enough to buy). I agree, I hope a real person or family ends up with it.

    • Us too on what we were looking for way back when, and lucky enough to buy. It’s been quite a treat (and an adventure) updating over the last 8 years. The journey is never ending but very fun to walk around our house and know every nook & cranny.

Me too, except I paid about half what this is selling for, 5 years ago. Yes, timing is everything in real estate.

  • I’m guessing it will be off the market by Monday.

  • Wonder if being so close to the tracks will prevent a bidding war on this one. Just hope it doesn’t pop back on the market in a few months with a fresh coat of blue-gray paint, a red door, and lots of surprises in the walls …
