Homicide Investigation in NoMa

“On Sunday, July 27, 2014, at approximately 5:42 am, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Fifth District responded to the Unit Block of N Street NE, for the report of an unconscious male. “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a homicide which occurred in the Unit block of N Street, NE.

On Sunday, July 27, 2014, at approximately 5:24 am, DC Fire and Emergency personnel responded to a call for an unconscious person in the Unit block of N Street, NE. Upon arrival they located an adult male and assessed he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Members from the Fifth District and Homicide responded to the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. The decedent’s remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.

The decedent’s name has been withheld pending next of kin notification.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”
