  • Awesome tomato! I’ve grown a lot of heirlooms (Cherokee purples, Mortgage busters, etc), but never this variety. Might have to try next year. For anyone who’s grown these, how prolific are they and, more importantly, how’s the taste compare to other varieties?

    • Thank you Ally. That is my tomato. The Mr. Stripeys are really delicious. I would say the flavor is mild and not acidic. They are not too sweet – very juicy and tender. My plants have grown over 6 feet tall and spread out very wide. From 2 plants I am getting several tomatoes per day (and it is still early). By next week, that will be seriously amped up. My Mortgage Busters are not doing as well – about 1 ripe tomato per week.

  • Ahh, why aren’t MY Capitol Hill tomatoes ripening? I’ve had tons of hard green ones for the past month.
