  • Huh? One month’s rent with the application? And doesn’t say anything about whether you get it back if you’re denied. Is this standard for that area?

  • What does “PPM” mean?

    • That’s the property management company, stands for Professional Property Management.

Either way, I’d say too high given it’s a basement unit on the alley. You can do better two blocks up in the managed buildings along Columbia for $2800 2 bed/2 bath

      • Actually, $45/month is actually on par or a bit lower than the going rate for property management “per door” of a building.

  • Only showing one bedroom – strange – and the bedroom that IS shown doesn’t look like it has windows (aka possibly not a legal bedroom). Or am I missing something?

    • I live in this building and it definitely has two legal bedrooms – there is a window just outside of the photo frame. The room with the desk is considered the second bedroom, I believe.

  • It seems like the photography technique/lens they’re using skews some of the dimensions. Also, to the best of my knowledge, it is not standard practice in DC for the first month’s rent to be submitted with an application and then a security deposit to be paid later. Maybe it’s the condo rules, but it seems a bit odd.

  • I’m afraid all those curved walls would eventually make me dizzy/nauseated.

  • Dang, the pages are no longer found, so I assume it is rented.

I lived at 1840 back in the 90’s and loved this place, still one of my favorite apts in my time in DC. Can’t confirm without seeing the photo’s, but the 2 level in the basement was awesome.
