  • justinbc

Or as real estate agents would call it Upper North Hill East.

    • i had a similar comment in mind lol

arent they already selling homes here in the 6-700’s?

      • Are they selling homes in Logan over mil? or in Adams Morgan?

      • more like $400-$500K

      • No, not quite. There are in the upper 400s- lower 500s range at this point, which I still find insane.

        • ok, i was thinking i saw a listing a few weeks ago that high
          maybe not though

& yes, 500’s is still somewhat high for the current state of the neighborhood

        • Please tell me what houses are going or have gone for the upper $400s – $500s, I find that very hard to believe. As a homeowner and knowing many people on our block, I haven’t heard one person tell me that there house appraised for that much. Now, maybe you are saying that is what some people are asking but that is different.

          • Do a search for recently sold on Redfin and check out Bennet Pl. You’ll be shocked.

          • Seriously on Bennett Place? The same Bennett Place where they are breaking into peoples homes. My guess is the same ones that are possibly selling their homes for that much money, don’t want to have “those ugly bars” on their homes and end up getting broken into. Am I right?

With all that being said, I am ready to be amazed. I know that my block (18th and H) has been called the “Pride of the Neighborhood” because it is normally quiet (in respect to the general area) and full of hard working people (for the most part) that take pride in the appearance of our block. But yeah, I still don’t know anyone getting that kind of money and I know a lady that just sold a couple weeks ago.

          • Yeah, I used to live in Bennett and sold my house last year. I got $375K and that seemed to have sparked a sell-off. Six houses were flipped on that block in the six months. Three houses went for $460s, another for $475K, another for $480K on 19th St. Two others were in the $370-380K range.
And yes, you’re correct. If you look at the pictures, all the renovated homes no longer have bars on them- a very imprudent move if you ask me.

  • Damnit! I heard it as I live a block over but was hoping it was fireworks. There were like 5 shots. What I don’t understand is why it took so long to rope it off or did they just find the body. I was up taking my tiller back to Home Depot at 6a in the morning and there were two cops parked at that intersection but they looked to me to just be chatting, nothing out of the ordinary. I came back from Home Depot at like 6:45 and that block is all taped up like a shooting had just happened. If this happened right after midnight why were they just taping it up at 6:30ish?

I am so tired of this bullshit, I am trying to raise a daughter and these clowns are just out here bucking. We are looking to move and will rent our home out because there will be a lot of value in it in the coming years but have to find something in our price range.

And no, houses are not going for 600-700K in the area, I don’t know why you all keep saying that. I would say that they are going for the low $400Ks and that is being very generous.

  • Can someone give the name of the actual neighborhood, I have heard and seen some many names for it, Trinidad, Old City #3, Langston, Langson/Carver… Is the name on our property deed the correct name?

    • Locally it’s known as “Little Vietnam” and it’s not because Vietnamese people live there.

  • He got shot on 19th & I St. Its in the middle of 21st, Carved Terr and Langston Dwellings
