  • this is a lovely home and the photographer did a great job of making it look bigger than it actually is. but a $5 million dollar house it aint. it is only 4600 square feet and 1/4 acre is not large. the outside of the home is very beautiful, the inside is nothing special.

  • Does the golden retriever convey?

  • why don’t these listings show the psf?

why did they put the w/d in such an odd location?

    • The owners might be from the UK or Europe, where it’s common for the washing machine to be in the kitchen.
It does look a bit odd here, though — the machine on the left seems to be blocking access to the adjacent cabinet.
If the washer and dryer were previously in the basement, this would be somewhat more convenient… but usually when owners change the location of the w/d from the basement to somewhere else, they put it on the floor with the bedrooms (or one of the floors with the bedrooms), to avoid having to take dirty clothes downstairs and clean clothes back upstairs.

This is definitely a beautiful home, but I agree that I would prefer a bit more land for $5M+.

  • A very beautiful home.

  • Not even close to how I’d spend $5 million. That’s mad cheddar.

  • Minor point but do you really only get three full baths for 5mil. I’m sorry but I need each million to at least buy me a bathroom.

  • This is random but I HATE how the curved front porch/entryway isn’t centered below the second story! Ack. That is driving me nuts from a purely visual standpoint. Otherwise, the house is beautiful but I agree with others that it’s overpriced.

  • What people don’t realize is how incredible this little neighborhood is. I stumbled upon it one day a few years ago just randomly riding my scooter down back roads and alleys and couldn’t believe it existed. All the homes were built 100 years ago and the neighborhood feels like you’re walking into another place entirely. I love showing this neighborhood to people who’ve never been here before.

    • Concur. That whole section of Cleveland Park is astoundingly beautiful. It’s hard to believe you’re still in the city, let alone a block or two from the Metro and some good restaurants. If I had a family and fat pockets, it’s exactly where I’d want to live.

  • For 5 mil, the house needs a pool.
