  • Ok, I’m not ok with these jokes. While I don’t agree that this is a good way to encourage young girls into the STEM fields, I think belittling these women as being dumb, is just plain sexist. I was there for this and all of these women are getting STEM degrees (most PHD’s) at highly respected universities.

    The popville winner is the only exception that thinks these girls can actually be both smart and be a cheerleader. Come on people we’re better than this.

      Perhaps you don’t understand the concept of a joke.

      • If there were actual jokes on here, or comedians I would appreciate it. Should we celebrate a weak attempt at comedy? No, it only encourages them.

          Well, we do it weekly, so I suggest either getting used to “weak attempts at comedy” or skipping those posts altogether. And unless you know the profession of every poster on here your assumption that none of them are actual comedians is just as baseless as any commenters assuming these women aren’t PhD candidates.

    • Well, I was the PoP pick, and if you re-read my entry, you may notice that I said nothing about these women being stupid.
