Off The Beaten Tracks Warehouse Open House Party Saturday

Off The Beaten Track Warehouse

“Dear PoPville,

I rent a studio at Off The Beaten Tracks Warehouse, a new art space in Langdon Park, just down by the railroad. The former train depot, post office, and warehouse has been renovated into an amazing space with painters, photographers, fashion, letter press, florists, metal workers, furniture makers, jewelers, a kosher wine distributor, and an enormous SLAMMIN’ antique store, the likes of which hasn’t been seen in DC in decades. They’ve even built an incredible roof deck and they (we) are hosting an open house on May 10, from noon-4pm.”

  • I wish it was closer to Metro. Brookland and Ft Totten have what appear to be vacant warehouses along the tracks that I wish attracted the same.

    • Yeah, definitely a fitting name for the spot. Can’t imagine the weed grow-house next door will be too thrilled at having neighbors and foot traffic, but the rent must be crazy low.

  • For those of us who avidly seek out, buy, and drink decent kosher wine on a continuing basis, it’s kinda funny the facility scheduled the open house on a Saturday.

Nevertheless it’s great news, especially in 20018, where residents have lacked such amenities for a long time. With those big windows it looks like a wonderful space for artists and arts educators.

  • If you have not yet been to Off the Beaten Track Warehouse and its fabulous studio and work spaces you don’t know what you’re missing.
The space is fantastic though clearly not close to a Metro station. It’s very easy for car/driving people as there is ample parking around. There are a number of buses that serve the area so it is accessible by public transit. Biking is possible as well, of course. This place is worth the transportation effort!
The Langdon neighbourhood is really quite lovely and the nearby park is fantastic. The passing trains are pretty cool.
The owners of the building have done a great job of fixing up the building while maintaining the warehouse vibe and charm.
I’ve met some of the artists and they are thrilled with their spaces.
I wish them all great success and I’ll be checking out the open house on Saturday afternoon. Can’t wait!

  • Not able to go this weekend but would love to check it out… is it open normally on the weekends for shopping?

  • How is .5 miles from Rhode Island Metro not close to a metro stop? Has walking really become that big of a hassle?
