That kitchen – claustrophobia alert! If they had simply mirrored the layout, they could have opened a portion of the wall to the adjacent room and made the whole thing feel a lot more open and inviting.

    • Totally agree. The size is nice and I love Mt. P, but that kitchen is a deal breaker. I would hate cooking if I lived there.

    • This does seem like an unfortunate layout with the kitchen. And the kitchen looks like it was redone recently enough that it would be a shame to immediately re-do it.

I like the kitchen, except the counter tops, which I could live with. I hate open kitchens. I’m a messy cooker, so I need some privacy!

    • I had a kitchen like that in a previous place. It was more than adequate for one person and the previous owner had had a live-in sig other. Unless you do dinner parties or something it would be quite adequate.

  • It’s a great price – I’d buy it and plan to open up kitchen. Not a complete re-do.

  • Kitchen would be ‘adequate” for cooking, but would also induce claustrophobia. Even for just me, one who doesn’t insist on open kitchens, and who has cooked quite happily in some really, really narrow galley ones (with stuff on both sides, so the room is 6 – 6 1/2 feet wide in total), I would not want to cook in there.

Not only does the kitchen need to be opened up and redone, but I’d want to replace the claw foot with a tub I don’t have to clean under. And that carpet in the bedroom has to go – hope the hardwood floors under it are in good enough shape to be refinished.

  • The kitchen is not that bad–it’s the exact layout of my current kitchen, except I have a half size cabinet to the right of the range. It works fine for me, and I do a lot of cooking. Fine, but not exactly inspiring. But seriously, look at that price tag, in this city. I’ll go with deal, and then someday re-do the kitchen.

  • It’s a good deal. The kitchen is typical apartment sized kitchen. I agree with the other poster; I’d rather not have an open kitchen. It’s a work room, IMO. Messy.
