  • I believe this house is already under contract with multiple offers.

  • Would have to get rid of all the easter egg colors but I really like it. Seems well laid out to use the space wisely.

  • Seems priced about right. I’m not sure what renovated means. Not thrilled with the kitchen or baths, but they clearly have been renovated since 1889. Not sure if I can say the same about the wallpaper.

  • Does anyone here have any recommendations where I can get a decent quality Chesterfield sofa? I know RH sells them, but that’s a bit out of my price range at the moment.

Pottery Barn might be slightly less, although not much. Maybe check the RH outlet in Leesburg as well.

      • There’s an outlet?!

Yep, and you can get some pretty amazing deals out there (it’s still ultimately a lot of money, but it’s at least 25-50% less of a lot of money!). They do not deliver though, so either have transportation arranged or hire a delivery service.

    • No idea what the quality is like, but,, have chesterfield sofas.

    • Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll take a look at the PB version – seems to be relatively cheaper than RH. I’ll check out the outlet as well. While I’d love to save some money, I’m not sure I’m willing to bet on such an expensive/bulky purchase with overstock/etc.

    • RH?

I guess this is the kind of situation where if you have to ask, you can’t afford it 🙂

  • That is a lot of square footage (1348 above ground, over 2000 with basement suite) for only 2 bedrooms. Apparently there’s a market for this type of home, but I’m surprised that building a master suite plus a 1/2 bath upstairs is a desirable use of space.

    • +1. Especially since the other bedroom is in the basement, which has been done up as an in-law suite.
And the in-law suite looks like it would need more to function as an actual apartment (stove, larger fridge, etc.), which kind of negates its value as an in-law suite. It’s more of a basement bedroom with a living room and wet bar.

    • Haven’t you seen House of Cards?? Hehe, I agree, there is certainly a market for this type of home.

  • I would say that this is priced to sell. If DC007 is right I wouldn’t be surprised. At all.

  • I really like this house–and pretty reasonable for capital hill area, I think. How much of a hit do you all think it takes (price-wise) for not having parking?

  • I like it, but what else is on the top floor? One bed and one bath on an entire floor? More bedrooms would be nice.
