Individual wanted on a Homicide Warrant in the Unit block of K St, NW Shot and Killed by Police this Morning

From MPD:

“On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at approximately 0617 hrs., members of a joint area task force responsible for the apprehension of fugitives, attempted to locate an individual wanted on a Homicide Warrant in the Unit block of K Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C. As the officers attempted to make contact, the suspect emerged from the dwelling and fired a weapon at law enforcement officers. The officers returned fire striking the suspect. The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There were no injuries sustained to the officers during this incident.

This Law Enforcement Shooting is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division.”

  • reminds us of the dangerous and difficult work the police do. @0617 most of us are either waking up or commuting to a desk, and these men and women are getting shot at.

    • Kudos to the police. Out there earning that whopping 4% raise that the chief and mayor fought so hard for. Job well done.
