Restaurant Coming to Murell Building on Georgia Ave and Upshur:

“According to the DCRA permit status website, zoning has been approved for a restaurant on 4201 Georgia Ave NW. Here’s the zoning description:

Zoning Review Approved . ZONING APPROVAL FOR AN INTERIOR ONLY, MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT CONSISTING OF A FULL SERVICE RESTAURANT WITH 41 SEATS ON THE 1ST FLOOR AND INCLUDING MECHANINCAL ROOM AND STORAGE ON THE CELLAR LEVEL POD. THE DEVELOPMENT SHALL INCLUSE INTERIOR RENOVATION OF EXISTING OFFICE SPACE ON THE 2ND AND 3RD FLOORS, POD. NO AUTOMOBILE PARKING IS REQUIRED AND NO AUTOMOBILE PARKING CREDIT IS EARNED FOR EITHER OFFICE USE AT 2,338.6 SQUARE FEET OR RETAIL USE AT 2,338.6 SQUARE FEET.

The Structural Review is still pending so no permits have been issued yet.

Has anyone heard what type of restaurant they are planning on opening here? This has the potential to be awesome.”

Rumor has it this will become another spot from the owner of Petworth Citizen, Crane and Turtle etc. but I haven’t got confirmation on that.
