  • So horrible. I’ve been hearing the sirens all afternoon and was wondering what the heck was going on.

  • These situations are always so sad: Not just for the person killed, but for the train operator who is going to have to live with this for the rest of their lives. *…

    • Agreed. Awful situation but the person that did it was so horrifically selfish to force someone else to be complicit.

  • Except there isn’t one there–trying to be ironic?

  • Happened to be there 2 hours later. Still lots of police plus DCFD/EMS with something that may have been related. They had some other guy who was being questioned by police and then and then he was forced into an ambulance (which blocked the intersection for about half an hour). Couldn’t catch the conversation, but the guy got agitated, the cops seemed to make his agitation worse. Police deal with this kind of stuff all the time–some cities do a good job of providing crisis intervention. It looked like DC and Metro don’t or else it doesn’t take.

    • How did you jump from agitated guy in an intersection to DC not doing a good job with crisis intervention?

      • Because it probably had some connection to the jumper–Metro (as in the transit system) police, Metro PD (as in DC), all over the place, plus the fire truck and ambulance, not long after the other incident. Perhaps a witness. Perhaps a mental ill person who was a witness. perhaps a suspect in another crime. Clearly the cops were not doing a good job, whatever.

    • Jeez, speculate much? How about you stop talking for awhile. Your leaps of logic are just making you look foolish.

  • Suicide is always sad news to hear. However, there are so many people overwhelmed in society with problems and many can’t cope with the bad experiences in life. Many people have thought about suicide, but they didn’t act on it, thank godness.
