  • We’re going to Puerto Rico in February and don’t have anywhere to stay yet! Is this the t-shirt “model’s” hotel? Its gorgeous! What is it called?

    • Hey GFTI – That’s me on the pic. This was at the Coconut Palms Inn in Rincón, PR. It’s on the west side of the island. Rincón is well known for its great surfing beaches and amazing sunsets. The Inn is really just a house – it’s not fancy at all. It’s not a hotel. The lady that runs it used to manage a hotel in Tysons Corner of all places.

It’s a no-frills place that feels like you’re renting a room from a guest house (because you kind of are). The employees are all incredibly nice, and the price is right (<$100/night). There are nicer places, but if you're on a budget, check it out. Just don't plan to stay there if you want to be in San Juan – it's a nearly 2-hour drive away.

If you'll be in the San Juan area, you're probably fine sticking to the usual hotel chains. On the east coast, stay in Fajardo, the El Conquistador is the place to stay ($$$$). The Fajardo Inn is ok if you're in a budget. On the southern coast, the Ponce Hilton isn't bad, and if you're in a budget, try Hotel Bélgica in Ponce .

If you're not in a budget and don't mind spending $1000+/night, check out the Horned Dorset hotel, not far from where this photo was taken.

      Hope this all helps!
