  • Well that stinks.

    Hope they recover.

  • Holy crap that’s awful. I can’t imagine they’d be in very good shape. I hope the person will be ok 🙁

  • Ugh, I hope the pedestrian will be OK. Trash trucks are big, heavy things. 🙁

  • No surprise that the trash truck is from KMG Hauling. Same company whose felon/deportee/illegal immigrant trash truck driver killed a cyclist near Dupont Circle a few years ago. What does it take to get this company off the road? Clearly they hire idiots and don’t care about safety.

  • On a somewhat related subject, has anyone else noticed how recklessly trash trucks speed through the alleyways around town? A few times I’ve been lucky to avoid getting hit by trash trucks flying down the alleyway between 18th & Champlain, at the cut-through south of Euclid … like this morning, in fact.

    • Unfortunately, this man died. This is a HUGE problem in the city. Why it is not reported more I cannot understand. I know TWO people who were run over while in a crosswalk (legally might I add). The first to be hit was an absolute miracle. She should be dead, but somehow pulled through after six months in the hospital. She is alive and in serious pain, but smiles because she says, “Life is too short to complain”.
The second woman passed away after a month in the hospital. Why is it that garbage trucks are allowed to get away with this? It baffles me. Keep your eyes in front, back, and on both sides and don’t expect crosswalks to be safety zones. If you are in a crosswalk and hit you will be at fault. —Not fair–Stay safe!
