I would say that well maintained is a pretty apt seeming description. Their little map at the end is kind of cute.

  • Seems like a decent price for the area?

  • Priced for a bidding war. Watch out. Didn’t Fusion close? (Ref’d on map of nearby amenities).

  • Good deal. A little far from the metro, but a home like this that looks like had renovations done by homeowners vs. flippers will be much easier to deal with after moving in. I think it’ll be under contract pretty much today.

  • Decent price, but it’s pretty far north from the metro and Chez Billy/new Safeway. I tend to recommend not going farther north than Grant Circle. However, the other side of Georgia has nicer homes overall, but you will pay more. Of course, that’s not a really Petworth.

  • We moved slightly north from this house last year, being a bit bummed we could not afford closer to the metro station without really straining ourselves which we did not want to do. Now, we are SO grateful to be where we are. The busline is FANTASTIC and something we – ridiculously – did not even think to consider when house hunting. We saved a ton of money compared to friends by buying a mile north, and get around extremely easily by catching the bus to the metro station (maybe 6 min ride) or walking (20 min) if it is nice out. There are multiple bus stops short walks from this house that make being a mile north really a non-issue for people open to all types of transit. And, this area is full of young families as well as older established residents, it has a great feel.

    • When I moved here one of my friends said, “Get to know the bus routes.” Best advice ever. Metro certainly serves its purpose, but I ride the bus 20x more than metro even though I live very close to a metro station.

      • +1 on both counts, also a few blocks north and east of here. Fort Totten metro is walkable for me but bus is honestly way faster and more predictable.

64 bus goes down New Hampshire to Petworth metro, Columbia Heights and U St Corridor

        • love the 64! I used to never be a bus rider until we got rid of our car while living in dupont. Then I discovered the 42, the L buses, etc. When we started looking for houses, bus routes were one of the things we looked at. Now we are within 2 blocks of 3 different routes and use the bus more than metro.
