  • Monkey’s don’t belong on houses!

  • Thanks PoP! I’m so glad it brings a smile to others too. The sculpture (we are still trying to think of a name for him, so please reply with any and all hilarious suggestions) was originally commissioned for Big Monkey Comics on 14th & Riggs NW “back in the day”. It was made by a great local artist named Robert Cole (www.studiocole.com). After the comic book store closed down it/he eventually found its way to our place (via a good friend, who knows about my fascination with monkeys, gifting it to my better half who then gifted it to me) and it took a few years to find the right people to install it for us (www.squareform.net — they are AMAZING to work with). We hope it continues to make passers-by smile for years to come as it does for us on a daily basis… now anyone who has a solar powered light we can affix to the back of it/him, or the hanging 10,000 Villages monkey that was monkeynapped from the tree in our front yard, feel free to leave that and your phone number on our front stoop (the phone number would be so we can invite you to numerous homecooked meals to thank you)… for everyone else, don’t forget to monkey around once in a while!
