Star and Shamrock, H Street NE’s only Irish-Jewish fusion tavern, announced today that they will be open for business on Christmas Day, for the Third Annual Xmas Mitzvah! Once again offering patrons a place to take a break from all of the family time.
“A typical Jewish Christmas Day is spent watching movies and eating Chinese food—in my childhood that was generally the only kind of restaurants that were open,” says owner Jason Feldman. “We thought it would be fun to offer up our updated version of enjoying movies and Chinese fare.”
In addition to Star and Shamrock’s usual menu of sandwiches, wraps and crowd favorites like “The Clogger,” they will offer some Asian inspired specials including:
1. Kung Pao Pastrami
2. Corned Beef Fried Rice
3. Turkey #2 Eggrolls (Turkey, Bacon, Muenster w/ranch dipping sauce.)
4. Clogger Eggrolls (Beef Brisket, Bacon, Provolone w/BBQ dipping sauce.)
5. Reuben Eggrolls (Corned Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss w/Russian dipping sauce.)
Yes, you can order by number if you’d like.
Keep your mug full with Hot Green Tea Toddies, or if you prefer a Hop Manna Draft from Shmaltz Brewing, dozens of craft beers, Bourbon, Whiskey or Rye infusions and a full bar to help keep your family events “friendly”.
Entertainment will include a variety of Christmas movies including Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Story, and many more, customer requests invited.”
