To The Good Samaritan Who Witnessed the Hit and Run on the 1200 block of I St, NE

“Dear PoPville,

My car was involved in a hit and run this weekend (Friday night) when it was parked in front of my house. Luckily a Good Samaritan witnessed the incident and left me a note with the make, model, color, and 2 variations of spelling of the license plate. I’ve filed a police report and notified my insurance; however, it would be helpful if I had the name and contact info for the Good Samaritan / witness in order to strengthen my claim against the person who hit my car.

The incident occurred in the 1200 block of I St NE, and the car that hit mine was a Cadillac. Can you contact me at finjess06(at)yahoo[dot]com if you witnessed this? Thanks!”

  • You should also post this to Frozen Tropics – a lot of people in that neighborhood read Elise’s blog also.

  • Don’t bother. You have only a vehicle ID, so unless your witness can ID the driver, MPD won’t do anything about it. Just file a claim via your uninsured motorist coverage.

  • Plot twist: ‘Good Samaritan” actually hit your car and wrote the note to throw you off the scent
