This Weekend’s Metro Track Work – Takoma Closed

From WMATA:

Red Line 10 p.m. Fri., Oct. 18 through closing Sun., Oct. 20
Buses replace trains between Silver Spring & Fort Totten

Red Line trains will operate:

Between Shady Grove & Fort Totten: Every 10 minutes 9AM-9PM and at regular weekend intervals at other times.
Between Glenmont & Silver Spring: Every 10 minutes 9AM-9PM and at regular weekend intervals at other times.

Free shuttle buses will replace Red Line trains between Silver Spring and Fort Totten to allow for third-rail infrastructure upgrades, rail welding and joint elimination for a smoother ride. Within the work zone, shuttle buses will operate on two routes:

Express buses will travel between Silver Spring and Fort Totten stations with no intermediate stop at Takoma. Please allow 15 minutes of travel time.
Local buses will travel between Silver Spring and Fort Totten with an intermediate stop at Takoma. Allow 10 minutes of travel time between each station.

Changes to Last Train Times

The last Red Line train of the night from Glenmont to Silver Spring will depart 27 minutes earlier than normal to allow for shuttle bus connections. On Friday and Saturday nights, the last train will leave Glenmont at 2:10 a.m., and on Sunday, the last train will leave Glenmont at 11:10 p.m.

Blue Line Regular weekend service
Yellow Line Regular weekend service (Huntington – Fort Totten)

Green Line 10 p.m. Fri., Oct. 18 through closing Sun., Oct. 20
Regular service except during daytime hours at Greenbelt Station

Green Line trains will operate:

Between College Park & Branch Ave at regular weekend intervals (every 12 minutes 9AM-9PM).
At Greenbelt Station only, trains will arrive and depart every 20-25 minutes due to construction activity.”
