  • Umm. As an Italian, it’s pretty obvious to me that these folks are not. How in god’s name could they misspell CAPPUCCINO on their sign board???

  • And a sandwich called Guido? And, ladies and gentlemen, panini is plural, panino is the singular.

  • What do you expect from a chain that’s also in Chantilly and Alexandria? DC is filled with garbage like this. It’s interesting that it once had a sizable Italian-American community. Yes, for all that “southern” nonsense, DC had European ethnic communities just like Baltimore and every other city along the East Coast, but they clearly were not big or deep enough to live legacies, like a lot of decent delis.

    • It is indeed sad. We have a sizable community of Italian expats, but it’s not the same. I’ve been to a few Italian events in DC and did not feel I had a lot in common culturally like I do with Italian-Americans whose families immigrated here in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s.

    • Couldn’t agree more with you Rich. I grew up in central Massachusetts and miss our neighborhood Italian restaurants, stores, butchers, shops etc. I for the life of me can’t figure out why something genuine can’t open here. All I can think of is that rents are too high for the mom and pop places I miss and love so much to open.

  • Scrillin

Can’t run the damn sign through spellcheck?

  • Great name.
