  • I suspiciously don’t see a bed in those pictures.

  • I remember looking at a place in this building and loving it. It’s not especially nice or anything, but it’s really close to Cleveland Park amenities.

  • Honest, non-trolling question here:

What entices people to this area? Specifically, younger residents. I always think of this area, as being more appropriate for families or older Washingtonians. What does it have to offer, that other neighborhoods don’t?

    • Comparative safety and a short commute, I’d guess.

    • Prince Of Petworth

It’s a beautiful neighborhood. It’s got restaurants and bars. It’s not too far from other fun neighborhoods. It is also relatively very safe.

      • I agree, it’s a beautiful and safe neighborhood. I rode pass this area last week on the 30 Metro bus going to Friendship Heights.

      • I got the neighborhoods confused. I was thinking about Macomb Street, NW off Wisconsin Avenue, NW. Both area are nice and safe.

    • To flip your question around, what do other neighborhoods offer that Cleveland Park doesn’t? As PoP points out, it’s got bars, restaurants, is safe and appealing. It’s also got utilitarian stores and easy transit options (and a baby panda!). And while it’s expensive to buy there, rental prices are actually quite fair compared to “hotter” neighborhoods.

      • This is the sort of neighborhood people move to after they realize life is no longer a 24/7 party and living on 18th Street in Adams Morgan or around the corner from the Verizon Center isn’t really worth all the hassles anymore. It’s nice to be relatively close to all the nightlife without living right in the middle of it all.

    • Lots of young, single women live in the area because it’s probably the most affordable safe area in the city to live on your own.

    • it’s actually mostly apartments.
plus it’s walkable. decent parks. close to the park. metro. bus. zoo.
and tons of other young people.
i don’t think you know it well. it has a lot.

      zero hip factor though. ZERO.
      but some may prefer that.

    • Safe, close to downtown; number of restaurants and bars. It’s a pretty great neighborhood.

  • I thiught this was a condo building? My friend lived here – they had parking, but you did not control the heat/AC – lotta elderly ppl live here.
