  • I can think of way better things to spend $600K on than a one bedroom condo…

I don’t know about “stunning”, but it is sort of cute. And 1,000 sqft is pretty huge for a one bedroom.

  • What an odd listing. First off, it is a 1 bedroom “plus den or second bedroom.” Maybe the second room is smaller than is optimal, but it seems like a weird choice to call it a 1BR if it could potentially be used as two. Also, the listing mentions the rear deck. But the pictures of the deck make it look like it has stairs leading to a roof deck, which is not referenced at all in the ad. They really need a better agent.

    • The second room looks like it has no windows. I think that prevents it from being listed as a bedroom.

Above poster is correct. You can certainly use it as a bedroom if you want, but they can’t technically sell it to you that way.

    • Also curious about the spiral staircase going to the roof. I’d imagine if that was a private roof deck, the feature would be promoted in the ad…but if for the whole building, than everyone is going to be walking up and down those stairs outside your place at any time? And all will have access to your balcony? No thanks.

  • The kitchen reminds me of mine, and not in a good way — the “open”-ness looks nice, but there’s not much cabinet space.

Many of the shots make the place look small or cramped… and if they look small/cramped in the photos, presumably they’re even more so in real life.

  • It seems ok if a little pricey. But, it is definitely not contemporary.

    Parking is huge too.

  • I’d price this at $550K.

  • That’s a lot of money, but it looks to be a solid place.

  • Decent square footage yet cramped in the kitchen and den/second bedroom. Would be okay if you want home office (and don’t have a traditional workplace) or have a lot of company. Still rather expensive. Not the best part of Ontario.

  • I live in the condo building next to this house. Many condos in this area go for $350 to $600 range for 1 and 2 bedrooms. In fact, $1M and up units are for sale right now and a unit for $2.4M. Buildings in this area are high end and very nice (though some rent controlled apartments on this street) You have a Harris Teeter and Safeway 1 block away, 18th street bars and restaurants 1 block, three dry cleaners within 2 blocks, police department 2 blocks and you are on quiet residential street. I think that plays into price also.

On this same street there are two other units for $500 and up and a unit in our building that is 1 bedroom and 500 sq feet has been on market for week for $385.

These are just DC prices unfortunately. One BIG downside on this street is Parking can be difficult on Fri. and Sat. when the neighborhood is overun with people from MD and VA. But overall, area is great. We really love living here. And walkability.
