Expansion of streetcar lines up Georgia Avenue sparked development in 16th Street Heights at the beginning of the 20th century. Per the Wikipedia entry about the neighborhood, original covenants called for homes to be “fully detached”. Subsequently, many of the homes in 16th Street Heights are large in comparison to homes in other neighborhoods, and with substantial lots. Prices for these homes can be a good value, especially when compared with detached home prices in NW neighborhoods west of Rock Creek Park.

Since March of this year, there were 21 settled sales of detached homes in 16th Street Heights. Prices ranged from $397,000. to $929,900. Active inventory for detached homes in the neighborhood is currently at 14 listings, ranging from $525,000. to $1,250,000.

The listing agent was Lisa Wright of Stonegate Realty Group, LLC. The purchaser was represented by Michael Alderfer of Redfin Corporation.

Maybe the new owner will know how to PROPERLY display the American Flag.

    • Seriously. If you’re going to be proud of your country you should do it as prescribed by obscure guidelines. Otherwise you may as well join Al-Qaeda.

The fact that you think they are obscure says it all.
The blue field should be on the left when displaying the flag in this manner.
You probably enjoy the Anthem being butchered at sporting events as well.

        • What “all” does it say then? Please be specific. The rules *are* obscure; if they’re not then why do so few people know them? Me, I’ve known the rules for decades (I was a boy scout as a lad), I sing the anthem louder than most at sporting events, and I like it played the traditional way.

  • But it’s hung correctly if you see it from inside or when leaving the house. Maybe the previous owners wanted to remind themselves of their own patriotism. What are the obscure rules on that? Or are you thinking of how you display a flag when it’s hung on a wall?
