FBI Seeking Info on Man, Aaron Alexis, Believed to be Responsible for Navy Yard Shootings

“Aaron Alexis, deceased, is believed to be responsible for the shootings at the Washington Navy Yard, in the Southeast area of Washington, DC, around 8:20 a.m. on September 16, 2013. The FBI is asking for the public’s assistance with any information regarding Alexis.

  • Wow – how shockingly different two photos of the same person can be!

      Yeah – doesn’t look like the same person.

      • If it’s from his military ID, you’re not supposed to smile for your military ID.

        If it’s from a mug shot from his previous encounters with the law…that’s a different story. But your military ID is smile free.

        • The smile didn’t throw me. It was more that his complexion is extremely dark on the right and much lighter on the left. Between these two pics, I have no idea who I would be looking for on the street.

  • I’ve been seeing some news updates implying that this guy might’ve used someone else’s ID to gain entrance to the Navy Yard facility.
    If that turns out to have been the case, I bet the federal government is going to push for not just having biometric data on people’s IDs, but also having some kind of point-of-entry verification system, so that a person can’t borrow the ID of someone similar-looking and gain entrance to a federal facility that way.
