Curbside Cupcakes Opening a Brick and Mortar Store in former Crepes on the Corner Space in Hill East

@HStGreatSt tweeted the news via the Hill East Listserv:

“Via newhilleast list: @CurbsideCupcake-H St res/@UnionMarketDC tenants-opening spot @ 15th & C St SE. Cupcakes + replacing Crepes on Corner”

In Aug. 2012 Crepes on the Corner closed after a brief residency at the corner of 15th and C St, SE.

Think a Curbside Cupcakes will do well here?

  • Just an FYI, thankfully Curbside said they plan on selling more than just cupcakes at this location. I was initially skeptical of a cupcake store for this space, but if they sell coffee and some other simple foods, I think it could do really well.

  • A coffee shop with good breakfast and lunch sandwiches would make a killing here.

  • Sounds like a great addition — as long as they’re doing coffee/maybe sandwiches. It sounds like I’ll have to make a lot of cross-DC bike rides, combining cupcakes and pretzels from the Pretzel Bakery!

  • As long as the give the surrounding area more reasons than a cupcake to walk over by broadening the choices past cupcakes and a few beverages they should be OK.

  • I’d prefer them to be in one of the empty slots on Pennsylvania (Potomac + Pennsylvania for example would be great!) They should do ok here if it’s more than just cupcakes, as everyone has pointed out.
