  • Now, the important question is…when is the dog swim?!

  • This is depressing.

  • Eh, who cares about the dog swim. Last year I went and they wouldn’t let most of the dogs in. There were two lonely dogs floundering around in the pool and a dozen or so watching from behind the fence. Lame.

  • Why close some of them so early?!?

  • YES! Inquiring minds need to know!

  • I’m surprised too. It’s not like it isn’t brutally hot through October. At least give us the weekends.

  • Brutally hot is a tad hyperbolic. September is the beginning of the end of the inferno.

  • Why are they closing so early this year? It is still hot out. Mayor Gray – keep this open! It employs city youth (granted they can be rude and authoritarian) and provides a constructive, safe area for kids to play during the school break.

  • DPR pools has got to be the worst run agency in DC right now. What dummy thinks it is cool to close pools in this region in early to mid August? Completely ridiculous. This whole system needs to be blown up and rebuilt.

  • There’s also a strong bias towards NW pools staying open later. I guess Wards 7 and 8 don’t get as hot in August?
