  • Hopefully an amber alert has been sent out for this little guy 🙁

  • I was thinking the same thing, but there isn’t one. Why is that? Also, MPD’s first tweet about this yesterday had his height at 5’3″

  • What a cute kid. What’s a pull up?

  • A pull-up could be like a pull-up diaper. This little boy may have some special needs. It is essential that he is found soon. Oh, my heart.

  • There are specific criteria for an Amber alert that this case doesn’t appear to meet. And on the news last night they said he’s autistic and wondered away from his home.
What are the criteria for issuing AMBER Alerts?

Each state AMBER Alert plan has its own criteria for issuing AMBER Alerts. The PROTECT Act, passed in 2003, which established the role of AMBER Alert Coordinator within the Department of Justice (DOJ), calls for DOJ to issue minimum standards or guidelines for AMBER Alerts that states can adopt voluntarily. DOJ’s guidance on criteria for issuing AMBER Alerts is:

Law enforcement must confirm that an abduction has taken place
The child is at risk of serious injury or death
There is sufficient descriptive information of child, captor, or captor’s vehicle to issue an alert
The child must be 17 years old or younger
It is recommended that immediate entry of AMBER Alert data be entered in FBI’s National Crime

Information Center. Text information describing the circumstances surrounding the abduction of the child should be entered, and the case flagged as Child Abduction.

Hope they find him soon and he’s unharmed.

  • PLEASE let this little boy be found safe and sound

  • Has there been a search team assembled? It seems if he is special needs, time is critical. Especially since there have been predatory attacks on other children in the area who are not special needs. I hope he is found soon.

  • I live in Trinidad and there was a police search party out yesterday evening. They were knocking on every door including mine. I really hope they find this little guy.

    • I live in the Trinidad area as well and spoke with police. Do you know if there is anything going on with which residents could help?
I see the cops and news crews all day, but would love to be able to help in some way.

      • I really do not know other than keeping our eyes open. I am on West Virginia Ave so I am trying to be especially vigilant.

  • from NBC4:
“Police recovered the body of a young boy from a car in Northeast Monday evening and believe the body is that of a missing 7-year-old with autism.

A source told News4’s Pat Collins the body was recovered from the back of a car parked in an alley, yards away from the boy’s home in the 1700 block of West Virginia Avenue.”

    Sad news.

    • I saw that update and promptly cried. I cannot imagine what his family is going through.

    • horrible news. only 2 houses down from his home in a neighbors cars.

i see people on twitter complaining that the police didn’t do enough. or that there weren’t fliers put around the area. How about just knocking on each persons door and asking them to check their yards????
it’s just so heartbreaking, and in the end, no blame really matters.

    • I just saw this and I am absolutely heartbroken. What awful, awful news.
