“In between” haircut touchup:

“Anyone know where I can go to get my neck hair cleaned and hairline trimmed in between regular haircuts. I went to Diego’s in DuPont and it still cost me the regular $20 plus tip. Maybe that’s what I should expect, I just don’t know. Since it’s such an inexpensive haircut there anyway, I shouldn’t complain. Just wonderin. Thanks!”

  • Not to sound like a jerk here, but why not just do that yourself at home with a trimmer and razor? Wouldn’t take more than 5 minutes.

Trim on Ontario and I think a few other places will do it for free (just leave a tip) if you get your hair cut there on the regular.

  • I had the same problem. Those awful neck hair triangles start growing about week after a haircut. I purchased a fog-free mirror (the good one on Amazon that comes with suction cup hook) and take care of it while showering. Super easy to do while shaving.

There’s a barber shop on Garfield in Clarendon. It’s either 15 or 17 for men. They’re good at what they do. I’ve gone in to get my hair cleaned up (I be female) and they don’t charge for a full haircut so you could ask for a cleanup. Might be $6?

  • You are best off buying a decent pair of clippers and cleaning your neck yourself

it does take pacience and prectice but is well worth it in the money and time saved

  • You mean like, uh, a haircut? Why not just pay for a haircut when you need it?

    • There is for in between haircuts. The short sides and back will grow out way faster than the longer hair on top. Sometimes all you need is a quick neck buzz to get cleaned up and extend your haircut for another month if the top still has plenty of room to grow.

  • Ask your wife?

    • My buddy’s wife refuses to allow him to spend money on a haircut. She does it for him and does an OK job. She’s just Old World like that and they can definitely afford it.

She also won’t let him spend money on a gym membership, so he has to go run outside in the winter. Dude can’t spend a dime of his own cash! She obviously has plans for all that money (namely, a baby in her belly).

Your wife and my wife would get along quite well. My wife is also my barber.

  • I go to Cut N Edge Family Barber (4481 Connecticut Ave at Albemarle St). I’ve seen on their price list something called “Shape Up” for $10 – not sure what it includes but you can always ask.
In any case, it’s a good place; basic cuts are only $18.
