  • You have got to be kidding.

  • Lol, wut? That’s comically bad.

Cue the Anonymous owner in here to defend his pricing in 5….4…..3…..

  • No no no, no, no, no, no no no. Is this a Nigerian price scam?

  • That’s the dumbest thing I’ve seen today, and I work with Congress.

  • The photos are really pathetic – one shows a bunch of knobs on an appliance, another shows bath fixtures. This is supposed to make me want to rent the house? In a word, no.

  • Way to show bad judgement owner. Look at the pics, close up of dryer and shower knobs as the showcase of this dungenous, overpriced dwelling!

  • Deluuuuuuuuuuuusional!

  • You have to admit he did a nice job with the grouting.

  • I applaud their attempt at humor.

  • I expect the Crypt Keeper to peer out from that staircase.

  • High ceilings and basement do not go together, nor do hardwood and basement. Also it’s a bad sign when 75% of the description is what’s near the rental and not the rental itself.

  • Wow. So sad. Still. I bet it’ll get rented out.

  • Wasn’t this featured as a “Dear PoPville – Get a Permit or Risk It?” in 2012?

  • It is horrific, but sadly I think they might rent it at that…

  • this is astonishing. i live just down the street on 11th and pay $2000 for an above-ground unit with TWO bedrooms and a small backyard. god forbid this landlord’s delusions are validated by sincere interest in this place. now i’m afraid my landlord’s gonna raise my rent if this what $2k gets you on park st!

  • I’m not sure what everyone’s so upset about. So the pictures are a little um…horrible. But don’t you know that Columbia Heights is THE place to be in all of D.C.? Who doesn’t love driving around looking for a parking spot for 20 minutes, and having the drunks stare at you across the street from Room 11. And I just love finding my car window smashed when when all I’ve left in my car was a AUX cable to a tape deck, yes I said tape deck. An those rats, who doesn’t love those rats? I think that $1,950 is a absolute steal, just like my bike at Meridian Pint.

    • hey! I’m not staring at you, I’m just trying to focus my eyes.

    • LOL, that’s a bitter rant. WINNER.

Cue the Petworth/Columbia Heights defenders to come in here and explain why their ‘hood technically isn’t the ‘hood. As if inflated real estate prices actually mean anything.

    • Coming from “Petworth Bound” I will take this comment with a grain of salt given Upshur is your equivalent of 11th. For the record I believe this property is overpriced

  • Wow. This listing is offensive.

  • everything about the interior is shoddy and cheap. no thanks.

  • Definitely overpriced and the pictures are….odd. But I’d be interested in viewing it if the listing was closer to $1,400.

  • That is more than I pay for the mortgage on my whole house a mile away in Petworth.

  • You have to assume some of those pictures somehow got centered and cropped rather than shrunk to size.

  • 2 grand for this? Nope.

  • Wow. Those photos are certainly not doing the listing any favors, especially the opening one that shows the needs-to-be-repainted porch, and the ones of the interior showing a roll of cable and a box of light bulbs.
The unit doesn’t look that bad, just very poorly photographed. And overpriced; something more like $1500/month would be more realistic. Also, the owner (or whoever’s listing the unit) needs to get some decent photographs with a wide-angled (if that’s the right term) lens.

  • That’s insane. I think prices in CH are already unjustifiably high, but this takes the cake. I really hope they don’t get that for everyone’s sake.

  • justinbc

This is very clearly overpriced. But I’m curious what people would actually value something as unappealing as this at?
