I thought the appeal of Palisades / Foxhall / etc was the large homes on big lots, providing more privacy and quiet. Why would you pay this much to rent in a rowhome right next to others in this particular neighborhood?

    • Or maybe the access to decent in-bound public schools? Besides, a similar rowhouse in Petworth is going to be $3K, but without the school options.

This would also make a good group house for G’town or AU students (or doctors in medical residency). $1000/month ain’t bad.

Palisades =/= Foxhall. It was originally a working-class neighborhood and many of the houses and lots are quite small. It’s a real mix. The local school is good, and it’s still a nice neighborhood (and not as far as it seems – it’s closer in than Tenleytown).
