    I always thought that image of Che looked more like the Ayatollah Khomeini, though.

    Finally found out why there are so many old cars when I was there (at some point, you’d think it’s more expensive to keep up a 1952 Caddy than to just buy a Lada) – only pre-revolution cars can be fully privately owned. There are newer cars, but ownership is controlled by the state and can’t be sold or passed on to anyone else.
