After reading the Good Deal or Not (GDoN) comments, I had to go back and search for the urinal in the pics. (I found it.) No, not a fan.

Ed. Note: I am a fan. 🙂

The first unit sold in this boutique condo in 2007 went for $810,000. The subject unit sold for $718,000 in early 2008. You can see the sales history (and photos of other units) for the building< a href="" target="_blank"> here.

The listing agent was Andrew Riguzzi with DC Real Estate. The purchaser was represented by Kelly Virbickas with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

  • So clearly urinals are a premium add-on.

  • home urinals are great! when having a party if my girlfriend Debbie is puking in the toilet I can still pee….

  • Not sure what happened to the formatting above, but here is the link to the sales history of the building:

  • Kicking myself in the head over this one… I almost bought one of those large Victorian houses on Girard for around $112k back in 1998… $800k for one condo alone?! I’d be on vacation in Mauii right now. Geez.

  • Oh Yeah!! I showed this condo when it was on the market before. As I recall, that urinal was a fine example of enduring design. The modern units of today are hung on the wall, and the trend is to provide increasingly smaller bowls. The fixture found in this condo was pure 1930’s old-school style! With a width sufficiently ample to accommodate the girth of W.C. Fields (or Chris Farley), it provided a wall of porcelain extending from chest-height all the way down to the floor. Heck, a guy could stumble into that bathroom blind drunk in the middle of the night, and have no worries about “hitting the mark”! I am sure that buyers recognized this unique feature and bid the price up accordingly…….

    • Dammit, Ed. Your comment is going to encourage every developer in DC to start putting in urinals to add more “premium”.
