  • Was walking with her CHILD?! That is a new level of disturbing.

    • This is incredibly disturbing – I’d be afraid that a similar assault may happen in the near future. This person clearly has severe mental issues.

  • The hammer attack guy is still locked up, right? It can be a little scary living in Petworth sometimes.

  • everything is going to be okay, I promise.

  • I walked right by this intersection at 8:30 and saw several mothers with babies and parents walking their kids to school and thought to myself, “this corner is really starting to get safer.” I relaxed a bit and enjoyed the pleasant walk to the metro.

  • At least his backpack wasn’t pink like the recent robber in the area. PCP laced weed again?? That area of Petworth is quite possibly near the worst around.

    • Anon 3:46, I live down the street from there and this area far from the “worst around”. In fact, it’s an incredibly safe, family-friendly area. I’m out in the early morning and in the evening, and there are few problems. Terrible things like this happen even in good places.

What’s really weird is that I was out there at 6:15 am that morning and there were cops everywhere at that intersection scoping something out. A couple hours later, this assault was reported. I’m wondering if there’s a connection.
