Wow. That's horrible. I cannot believe the audacity of some people. Did she not thin you...
thanks for writing citykids! great addition!
I live a block away from that corner too... and it's the one area I try to avoid passing...
Rant: a friend of mine cancelled on our plans to go to a play this afternoon because she...
you do live in a transitional neighborhood. news like this is rough, but it shouldn't be...
With the exception of those bathroom tiles, I kind of love everything about this place. I think it’s a pretty damned good deal.
Not a bad deal, I would guess this gets asking at least. I don’t love how the space is chopped up by those split levels (the 2nd and 3rd BRs are very small, probably a reason one was photographed with what appears to be a bench and no bed). Closet space seems lacking other than the master BR and no basement (?) so storage is an issue. But the outside space!
I too think it’s a deal–I live a few blocks away on A and walk by it everyday so was curious to see interior when it was listed.I think lack of basement and being on the 17th St speedway are downsides, but 17th will be converted to single lane + bike lane soon. Great light in the “penthouse”–wonder how recent that is. Can’t be original (right?) but brickwork meshes nicely so not some random, new popup. I suspect the bocce court will disappear!
That reno is horrible…the bathroom needs to be gutted and redone and so do the god awful tiles in the living room and the mirrored doors in the bedrooms. This is nice circa 1986
Interesting perspective. I think this is a bit pricey, but I love the reno.
I feel the same way. The renovations seem dated to me.
The inside isn’t bad and the size is good. The only “problem” is the location – and some may not have a problem with it. 17th has more than just a small reputation as being a bit of a speeding zone – and the Eastern High School is one block away.
Yea – no kidding about the “speeding”. Although a bigger problem is folks repeatedly failing to stop at the stop signs. Several close calls with people breezing through the stop signs going about 40.
I like the room with the beams and all the windows in it and also the vaulted bedroom. The kitchen and bathrooms are definitely not my taste. I still think it’s a good deal.
I am the listing agent. Thanks everyone for the feedback/comments. Secondary bedrooms were both staged and we opted to use less furniture to highlight the room size, light and hardwood floors. Each of those rooms are actually a nice size in comparison to many DC row homes (front room is 9’8″x12′ and back bedroom is 10’2″x11’9″). The entire house was renovated around 2006 (which is when I believe the 3rd floor was added). Each bedroom has a nice closet and the two mirrored wardrobes are actually conveying if a purchaser wishes. We are OPEN Sunday for a St. Patty’s Day premier from 2-4 PM. Email me if you can’t make it but would like to set up a showing cara@dcsuburbhomes.com.
