  • Eh, it’s builders-grade at best and that part of town is D-E-D dead at night.

    • tonyr

Maybe it’s not a good deal, but it’s 10 minutes walk max to Verizon/Chinatown, E Street Cinema, Mount Vernon Square, 14th Street etc. and across the street from the new CityCenter. Not exactly Dale City.

  • I would live at the bar of Brasserie Beck and gain 30lbs.

  • doesn’t look like anything special

  • Not sure I’d want this for anything but a pied-a-terre to my lobbying job. Like someone mentioned earlier, there’s nothing to do here past the evening rush hour.

  • Could be good for someone who wants to live downtown for a few years, then rent it out. But can’t imagine anyone would want to live there for more than a couple years. More of a long term rental/investment after getting your foot in the door for location while you are single.

  • I guess this is today’s version of basic builder – and there is a market for that. Buyers are definitely paying for the location and the amenities.

Is it just me or are ceilings in the kitchen sort of low and the closest doors even more cheap than the kitchen cabinets?

  • I’m not really understanding the lack of nighttime activities complaints. Beck is across the street, Fabio’s new restaurant is coming less than a block away. Starting one block one direction is the k street club scene, 2 blocks another is the start of the new blagden alley/shaw district, it is about 5 blocks to the 14th street strip, 5 to Chinatown/penn quarter, 5 to passenger/HOGO. It will be two blocks to the new things at city center, which is sure to have more options soon, and there are probably 10 theaters within ten blocks. Are people upset that there is no bar inside that building? Because I haven’t even looked at the pictures if the unit, but there is a ton of nightlife around there.

  • Baseboard heat? The most inefficient approach imaginable. The electric bills will be brutal. The kitchen with the little cutout seems circa 1970s. When they call it a den/bedroom, you know it’s a walk-in closet with a window, although the square footage isn’t too bad.
