Looking up the tax record for this property reminded me how confusing this city can sometimes be to newcomers. There is a piece of property located at 1115 I Street in all quadrants except Southwest. Further confusing is that both 1115 I St NE and 1115 I St SE might be referred to as being in “Capitol Hill” (which it is in this listing). I do realize that north of H Street is a stretch to be called “Capitol Hill”, but for real estate purposes, that’s shorthand for “that side of town”.
Continues after the jump.
There are definitely more listings tagged with “Atlas District” or “H Street” than there used to be. “SoFlo” seems to have died out as H Street has continued to develop as a destination area. It’s also not unusual to see agents leave the neighborhood identified as the non-descript “Old City #1”, which is the legal subdivision. Of the 36 active listings currently in Old City #1 in the NE quadrant, only one is identified as “H Street Corridor”.
Fee simple home sales north of H St NE and south of Florida Ave NE since 08/01/2012 have ranged from $350,000. to $810,000.
The listing agent for 1115 I St NE was Tom Faison with RE/MAX Allegiance. The Purchaser was represented by Ann Young of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

I am a homeowner in this neighborhood, and I think this is nuts. If there is any regulation on government-backed loans, slashing of the federal budget, or another economic crisis these people are screwed.
+1
That is some really ugly brick. Almost looks fake.
I think it is just painted formstone.
That makes sense. I guess painted formstone is better than unpainted formstone at least.
Either way, ugly!
