The former Z Mart located at 806 H St, NE will become Chez Hareg Organic Market. Elevation DC reports:
The 4,000-square-foot space should be open by the middle of April, she says, after a quarter of a million dollars in renovation expenses. The market will carry local produce, eggs, meat and more — many purchased from the same suppliers who serve the local farmer’s market, Messert says.
They also say the market comes from the same owner as Chez Hareg Gourmet Bakery.

Unfortunately, many of the older residents would prefer empty storefronts over anything...
I had a Yorkie and it pains me to recall thoughts of when my see you next Tuesday gf left...
I hope your prayers are answered.
Our thoughts are with you.
"Boot camp" groups. My hardcore running friends always complain about them. They clog up...
Is that blood dripping from behind the sign?
Isn’t this a block from where the Whole Foods may be going in? If so, this seems like bad timing for Chez.
this would become a hipster vs yuppie point of pride thing.
no self respecting/loathing hipster could go to the WF bakery if there was an indie choice nearby.
and what yuppie can resist WF? none, i tell you. none.
It’s a block from where a Whole Foods might be sometime in the amorphous distant future. I’m really not holding my breath on that rumor. This one, however, actually looks like it will be materializing, which is super exciting!
What’s a hipster?
pretty much everyone that’s cooler and knows better bands than me.
Guessing most people on earth are hipsters then
if you say so but im jamming to some bananarama right now.
Are we really back on this again? It’s not too tough – like porn, you know it when you see it.
Let’s come together and all agree to drop any PoP reference to yuppies or hipsters for lent.
i prefer jokes to Catholicism.
but if we can come together and lighten up, i’m all for it. you in?
