This rental is located at 3704 13th Street, NW:
The listing says:
“Spacious 3BR home with sunny den in 3 level home, parking for one car in & nice patio back yard in rear! Hardwood floors, 1.5 baths, washer-dryer, large windows, all just steps from Columbia Heights and pet-worth metro!! There is a large basement with access to the back yard.”
This 3 BD/1 Full, 1 Half BA is going for $3,000/Mo.

Seems a little pricey for the condition but not far off.
My 2BR basement about a block away is about the same price. I’m tempted to inquire.
You’re overpaying. Big time.
Oh, I know. We just haven’t been able to do any better, no matter how hard we’ve tried.
I pay the same price as this crappy rowhouse in Petworth for my 2000 sq. ft. 2BR loft on U Street. All the lofts in my building are this price. I’ve only been here for a year and we’ve had 3 lofts turn-over since I moved in (it’s a 14 unit building).
There’s plenty of stuff out there at $1500 per bedroom in much better locations than Petworth.
Any chance you’d mind filling me in? I’m looking at renewing my lease in a couple months but would love to get away from dupont back to U street. If it’s super DL please don’t hesitate to email me on my (spam, public) email at burner.1010@gmail.com. If that includes parking I’m going to start trying to round up a roommate immediately..
looks like they raised the price on it. http://www.popville.com/2013/01/fri-afternoon-rental-option-petworthcolumbia-heights/
Starting to wonder if PoP owns this place, and is just using the blog to generate extra interest so he can keep raising the price. Predicting another rental option post in about a week, with this house at $3,300.
This seems super cheap. $1000 each for a group home this close to metro is quite a good deal?
For this area? For a house in that condition? It definitely is not quite a good deal.
Uh yeah not a deal at all in that condition. What is up with 3 br and one bath? How are people supposed to get ready in the morning?
except it’s more rundown than the place i rent a block away, which is the same price for four bedrooms.
Wow! My mortgage is only $2200 for a 3 bedroom 2 full bath and fully renovated. Maybe I should rent it out and make a cool $800 a month!
^^this
More fodder for my “rent the house out & go on a months-long trip” campaign. Ours is way closer to the metro & shows better (nicer looking kitchen).
Three bedrooms with ONE full bathroom for $1000 each? I’m sorry, I would not be paying $1000 to share one bathroom with two other people. Plus, this place looks to be in pretty rough shape. Is this really what the rental market is commanding right now? I have to admit I’m out of touch since I bought my house a few years ago…
