So far, we’ve only been told we have 59 minutes off today and Monday. If the government is closed Monday, I’ll probably have to take leave without pay (I’m a contractor, with no paid time off left.)
I was going to say why can’t I find any independent verification from the Post or the White House site or OPM, but I just got verification from our Executive Director. So MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Woo HOO!

Another spending opportunity!
All well and good, but couldn’t they announce these days further in advance so people can coordinate travel and such before prices become outrageous?
Sigh. My work told me it was too late for them to close so we won’t be getting it off (or getting a vacation day credited back to us if we’re already taking it off). Way to leave it to the last minute…
