This house is located at 1162 Abbey Place, NE:
The listing says:
“T’was after election – new Congress was lurking, so close to The Capitol you could hear them not working. This home was completed w/great skill & technique; filled with love, light & logic, no room for critique. The cabinets all hung, marble laid with such care, the finish so flawless, priced so pleasantly fair. Hypnotic bedrooms – calming my head, were it not for the kitchen I’d never leave bed.”
You can see more photos here.
This 3 bed/2.5 bath was listed at $568,500 but is already under contract in only 7 days. What do you think it actually sold for?

I’m guessing this sold for $587K
I wouldn’t buy just for the listing…..too cute.
Even if you hate NoMa … gotta admit this is a pretty good price for a place that’s about 500 feet from a metro station.
Very clean and sunny, so it showed well. Location is meh…too close to that industrial section off Florida, but withing walking distance of the red line. I’ll say it went for asking or maybe $5 or $10k above.
I think that area is going to be spruced up a lot in the next few years. Especially if someone can do something with the U-Line Arena. Good buy.
OK, I confess, I kinda liked the listing poem. I thought it was clever. The house looks tiny to me, but it’s probably a good deal. Does it have a backyard?
There is a small deck and a secured parking spot (with automatic door). There are likely no pictures because the garage door is still being installed.
I put an offer on this place that had an escalation clause to 590k, and I was not even in the top 3 offers (9 were received).
“Great skill & technique?” Not a single appliance fits in the cabinets! More like great ineptitude and laziness.
