7:00pm – 9:00pm |The Murmuring Coast (A Costa dos Murmrios) (2004, 120 min) – Margarida Cardoso’s stunning drama, set against the backdrop of the Portugal-Mozambique war of the late ’60’s; and based on a famous novel by Lidia Jorge. (Portuguese w/ English subtitles). (Warning: brief nudity).
The film will be followed by Q&A with Iane Campos-Siddique, organizer of the Washington Portuguese Language Meetup and a university lecturer in Portuguese.
