I think this is probably the first time someone has combined the words “sweet” and “drainage.” Probably the last time, too.
this looks like a rain garden, and it may have been supported by DC government. DDOE has a program to help homeowners install rain gardens and remove impervious surfaces (concrete walks, pads, etc) in order to reduce storm water going into the sewer system.
