Missing Vulnerable Senior Alert: John Matthews

The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department has sent out an alert on a vulnerable senior who has been missing since last night (12.10) from the 1400 block of Oglethorpe Street, NW. John Matthews is described as an 88-year-old male, 5’9” in height, 155 pounds, with brown eyes, gray hair, and medium complexion. He was last seen wearing brown pants, a blue sweater, and a maroon vest. Mr. Mathews suffers from dementia and may be in need of his medication.

  • So sad :( I hope he is found, or makes it home. I have watched people suffer through dementia, and it is the hardest thing in the world.

  • I live down the street from him and saw him at 13th & Missouri yesterday around 1:30pm. I called MPD after I found out he was missing…hope he makes it home safely.

  • Back in the 60′s, 70′s and the 80′s Johnnie use to hang around and handle business in the 14th & U st area. My Husband and an old friend of Johnnie also has dementia and when he went missing he was found in that area. Look around all the old haunts. You have my prayers.
