Arts@1830, Formerly Raven Arts Gallery opened at 1830 14th St, NW back in Oct. 2011. This is the space that was previously home to L and N thrift store. This is also the same building that used to be home to Hunted House upstairs which moved to H St, NE in May 2012. So now the whole building is vacant. It’ll be interesting to see who takes over this prime space.
Last week we learned that the LUX design store had closed across the street at 1821 14th Street, NW.

I hope they don’t raze the building. That art on the side is one of the most hilarious things in the city.
That didn’t last long. The whole building needs a refurb, though. I wonder what they’ll do with it and the big empty parking lot next door.
Other than the vaguely racist ones, that is probably the most unsightly mural in town. Mostly because it’s in really bad shape.
I’ve never seen a “vaguely racist” mural in this town, which one are you referring to?
Well, for just one example, there’s one in Columbia Heights that has been discussed on this Web site.
That’s vaguely descriptive.
