If you have any fun or interesting animal/pet photos please shoot me an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit.

“This is Moose who recently moved to Logan Circle dressed up as a squirrel for Halloween!”

“Sibling Love in Petworth. Buddy lets his sister, Hazel, know he’s ready to play.”

“This is Oliver of Adams Morgan who sadly passed away Sunday. He was one of the original AMDogs (Adams Morgan Dogs), whose owners worked to get the dog park established in Walter Pierce Park. He was a happy, wonderful pup who was known throughout the neighborhood. He would have turned 14 in February.”

..or bike. or bus. or drive. or cab. or walk. or stay in the neighborhood.
people...
I guess they'll have to just walk the half mile to the NOMA Metro or take the H St...
do all texans think the same?
i'm not sure why i get why that is relevant.
Frankly, as a Texan, I have never had worse enchiladas than I had at Mi Cocina. I don't...
Where did you get the squirrel costume??
Target – they had a ton of costumes this year! It was either squirrel or puppy pirate
Oh wow, I will need to keep my eyes peeled for it next year. My dog would make the perfect squirrel!
Love them all! Oh the humiliation of being dressed up as prey.
RIP Oliver. Such a cutie.
Oh dear – condolences on Oliver – looks like he was a happy fellow! And never being dressed as a squirrel is always good!
I’m sorry about Oliver.
I also love that Moose dressed as Squirrel.
And Buddy and Hazel appear to be playing that favorite game of kittens and puppies everywhere, “I’ll Bite Your Face Off.”
Whem Moose wears the squirrel costume, does he end up chasing himself?
he destroyed the acorn part of the costume actually!
I am so sorry to hear about Oliver. I remember him fondly from many mornings and evenings at Walter Pierce. Hawkeye and I send our heartfelt condolences.
RIP in Oliver. Cute and a trailblazer in AdMo for other pups. Just curious… how did get in to the baseball game?? Totally awesome!!!
The Nats (and I think a number of other ball parks) do a Pups at the Park night at least once a season. You buy tickets in a special section and you can bring your dog.

They do Pups at the Park days/nights throughout the year. I believe they had 4 this past season because they are so popular.
Wow – Pups in the Park! Oliver’s legacy lives on in the many dogs who never knew about it and will now take part. May the memory Oliver’s many happy days shine brightly in your mind.
Oliver’s human(s), I’m so sorry for your loss.
RIP Oliver. I’m sorry you didn’t get to see the Nats win the Series, but it sounds like you were well-loved and will be missed.
RIP Oliver!!!
Sorry for your loss…
RIP Oliver. He looks like a cousin of our dog, Callie (part chow chow, right?), who is also around the same age.
Oliver was truly an awesome being. I will always remember him doing the downward dog on command. RIP, sweetie!
Good night sweet prince: And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
Thanks for the comments about Oliver. He was an amazing dog and I still can’t believe he’s gone. Yes, the baseball shot was from “Pups in the Park.” This one was taken the first time they did it, which I think was in 2009. Oliver had been to several Nats games, possibly more than some humans in DC. I always thought he was in it more for the hot dogs than the baseball though.
Oliver looks like such a sweetheart! I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s great to know that you gave him a wonderful life and he enriched your life as well.
When my dog passed, Nick Galifianakis’ piece about his dog, Zuzu (http://nickandzuzu.com/about/about-zuzu/) was one of the things that comforted me; it said everything I was feeling.
(Warning: may cause tears)
So sorry for your loss, Oliver’s family. What a beautiful guy!
“He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, until the last beat of his heart.” My thoughts are with you- hope his passing was peaceful.
Oliver’s mom-
So sorry to hear about your loss, I know Ollie will be missed by all his human and dog friends!
hugs to Oliver’s humans….
