1224 H Street, NE
Back in June 2010 we first heard that Sticky Rice would be expanding next door to 1224 H Street, NE. I actually forgot all about it until I passed by on Saturday as the exterior space was getting painted. I wasn’t able to look inside but looks nice on the outside. I can hardly believe Sticky Rice first opened in 2008.
What’s the oldest “new” restaurant or bar on H Street, NE? Argonaut?

I know cycling has problems, but the crackdown on juicing has gone too far.
All I know is I am tired of seeing every renovation is just a gut job, then a unoriginal...
I love Bacio pizza in Bloomingdale! They don't offer delivery but great neighborhood...
311? I think I found the flower thief. Suspect is helmeted male, hopped up on apple...
I tried their kabob last weekend, it was pretty good and a lot of food for the price....
I would agree with Argonaut. What used to be next to Sticky?
Argonaut was first. I think Palace of Wonders was next… Or it could have been Martini Bar.
Yes, it was the Argonaut which opened back in 2005 (August I believe).
Argo, yeah – then The Pug or Palace of Wonders? The Red & The Black?
Pffff, so Toki has to limit hours and takeout, etc., for “quality control”, but Stickey Rice is doing well enough to expand.
There is no God….
Well the quality at Sticky Rice has greatly declined, so Toki might be on to something.
Agree. Such a shame too – the Sticky Rice in Richmond was really good.
I wanted to like the one here but I’ve been disappointed every time I’ve gone and will probably never return. I have no idea why people go.
I would guess that it still gets business, because people get sick of waiting for 3 hours for Toki, and after several Natty Bo’s, any food will suffice?
Gorgeous color.
Argonaut, Palace of Wonders, Red & the Black
Heh, I remember driving over to the Argonaut back when they were new. Parking was no problem in the neighborhood back then. The food there was much simpler and a lot better.
The space where Sticky Rice is located used to be painted yellow and black. It was supposed to be a Mexican-themed place called The Beehive.
