  • The people were nice, but WAY overpriced.

    • Overpriced compared to both Second Story and Books for America but a great store. Too bad Dupont is loosing or possibly has already lost all its funk.

  • I liked this place, but always wondered how it stayed in business.

  • Sad news! As a small business owner in DC with a similar inventory to Kultura this hits close to home. Mom and pop retail ain’t easy folks, especially with DC rents attached to it.
They’re a very nice couple and I wish them well.

  • bummer! very cool shop– bought many a gift there. i’m fine with overpaying to support a non-chain store, especially in higher-rent areas like dupont.

    • figby

I didn’t mind the high prices, either, but surprised at the earlier comment that the store was “friendly.” I went in a few times and got the up-and-down appraisal, the dismissive sniff, and a distinct lack of interest or help. So tired of that attitude, generally.

Will this be another Comfort One store?
