2904 Georgia Ave, NW
The long awaited Harrar Coffee and Roastery has opened at 2904 Georgia Ave, NW between Harvard and Columbia. I stopped in on Sat. [they opened Sunday] and while some finishing touches were ongoing I was able to take a few photos. A great transformation of this former bodega. There is a narrow entry that leads to the coffee bar. Towards the back there is a small seating section for about 6-10. And of course there is roasting on scene and you can buy bags to go. I’m eager to head back to get a taste. Def. a great addition to the neighborhood.

More photos after the jump.

definitely!
I “hope” it doesn’t become the old P Street Continental
In all seriousness, great addition to the neighborhood … looking forward to trying their coffee!
I had a cup there this morning – pretty good, and a nice looking place.
Cool, I’ve gotta check it out later today!
Hope everyone supports them so they stay open (assuming they are good)
This place looks cute enough.
is that a pony or a unicorn? either way, i love it.
Wow and wow, this is one of the best cafe shop i have ever been. I had a coffee yesterday and i love it. When i was their yesterday, they where roasting the coffee beans. I will go there this evening after work.
Finally, we have the best cafe shop in the neighborhood.
I think we should support them
Love it!
I have a bag of their Harrar coffee – a very, very good roast. The beans had the aroma and sheen that you’d want to smell and see. Looking forward to having these guys in the city for a long time!
Very nice looking place I can’t wait to taste their coffee. I heard Harrar coffee is the best.

Woah! I am going to head over there and check these guys out. I’ll go for the coffee, but I’ll stay for the horse picture.

Just had a cup of their dark roast this morning and it was one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had in CH. The horse painting is huge, too new agey for my taste… this will not keep me away though.
Anyone know if they have tea? Also is it a good environment to read a book or study?
Yes they do have almost all kinds of teas black, green & herbal.
I just went there yesterday morning. The coffee was good (I’m not a connoisseur, but it was god enough for my taste). For regular coffee, it’s self service. Standard menu for espresso drinks. The selection of pastries was small, but my croissant was tasty. A good amount of seating for a small place. I asked if they had wifi, they said they did, but it wasn’t working.
